Jordan Adams, C: Mason City Newman High School A big kid who could be the state’s best sophomore. Great size, arm strength and raw power. Hits and throws right-handed.
Willie Argo, OF: Davenport Assumption High School One of the state’s best athletes. Argo, a junior, excels in wrestling and football, as well as baseball. Hits and throws right-handed.
Danny Cahill, OF: Johnston High School Cahill hit .484 in 2006 for the Dragons. Hits and throws right-handed.
Ryan Caudle, OF: Davenport Central High School Caudle was an all-state pick in 2006. The right-handed hitting outfielder possesses good power. Throws right-handed.
Alex Conlon, INF/P: Dowling Catholic High School The versatile senior infielder/pitcher led the Maroons to the state’s No. 1 ranking in 2006. The left-handed hitting Conlon has committed to Iowa Central Community College. On the mound, Conlon throws right-handed.
Andrew DeSousa, RHP: Cedar Rapids Xavier High School The senior right-hander has led Xavier to a state title once already, as well as a runner-up showing. Hits right-handed.
Jon Gilmore, IF/RHP: Iowa City High School Easily the state’s top talent. Presently a shortstop, Gilmore’s size will him to 3B someday. But right now, the right-handed hitting Gilmore is projected to go early in this year’s June draft. Good power and a gun for an arm. (See profile)
Jared Norris, IF/LHP: Urbandale High School The two-time all-state pick has committed to Yavapai (Ariz.) Junior College, in Phoenix. The senior infielder/southpaw hits left-handed.

Drew Taylor, C: Southeast Polk High School Another two-time all-state pick like Snead (above), Taylor could be the state’s best catcher. The senior backstop hits and throws right-handed. Jimmy Waters, INF/RHP: Council Bluffs Lewis Central Waters signed early with the University of Kansas. The senior right-hander hits from the left.
Drew Young, RHP: DM Lincoln High School The senior right-hander went 10-2 for the Railsplitters in 2006.
